Welcome from the land of lawn tractors - Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Those shiny jacks look great. Cool how something more functional is also better looking.  8)

Don't use thin (or any) aluminum sheet as a separator between the galvanized coupler and the aluminum frame. If it is a tight fit try epoxy paint or even electrical tape. Here in Canada our "paper" currency is now made of thin plastic. Since the value of the stuff is dropping, you could use Canadian $20's as your separator. If there's a bit more room use vinyl or rubber sheet or a stack of Canadian $$$.  :-\

When you reinstalled the coupler did you include any kind of material separator between the aluminum & the galvanized coupler?
It is always good practice to avoid contact between the dissimilar materials to avoid galvanic corrosion.

Tow Vehicles / Re: Thinking about buying a Tacoma...

Well today our Jeep was traded in on the 2015 Tacoma. We are liking the upgrade muchly but I have yet to test it by towing our trailer. That test will come in a few weeks when we have a trip planned to beautiful Nova Scotia.

On eTrailer I found a plug'n'play wiring harness made for using my Tekonsha P3 brake controller with the Tacoma so I didn't need to tackle removing the old wiring from the Jeep. The harness is ordered along with two >> RockyMounts Clutch ST Truck Bed Rail Bike Carriers << made for the Tacoma.

Here's a pic of our new truck taken a few minutes ago in the evening light. Although it looks darker in the pic, the truck is a metallic silver colour.

Camping cooking / One pot meals...

What's your favorite one pot (or one skillet) meal when you camp?

Funpilot - I see in one pic what looks like a cassette toilet. How are you liking it? I like the one we had factory-installed in our small but mighty Camplite 11FDB.

It's our lowest maintenance vehicle we own.

That's good to hear. Our Jeep is a maintenance piggie.

Tow Vehicles / Thinking about buying a Tacoma...

I'm thinking about trading in our tired 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a new 2015 Toyota Tacoma. We'd get the 4x4 Access Cab (2-door) with the SR5 package and the 236 hp 4.0L V6 with 5-speed automatic. It will have a 6-foot box. Fuel consumption ratings in US gallons are 15-city, 17-combined, and 19-highway. That poor milage is similar to the Jeep so, sadly, we are used to it. Kelly Blue Book rates the Tacoma as having the best resale value of any vehicle. (At 3-years old they say the Tacoma holds almost 75% of its value and 60.4% at 5-years). The towing capacity is 6500 pounds so it should handle our small but mighty Camplite 11FDB with ease.

That pic with the grease looks like you are one of those faith healing surgeons! You can make serious money with that skill!

Funpilot -- Welcome aboard! Although this forum will by its nature have a focus on Livin'Lite products it is ultimately about like-minded people sharing with each other. There are of course many "like-minded people" who don't own a Livin'Lite RV but have much to contribute. I'm sure I speak for everyone here -- anyone with a desire to contribute is welcome. I look forward to learning more about your Trailmanor and all your adventures with it.

Hi Taylor and Christian!

I too am glad you joined this forum and I trust you'll have fun participating. In 2012 I had a small but mighty custom CL11FDB made for me. I drove from beautiful >> Prince Edward Island << all the way to Wakarusa to pick it up. I really enjoyed your area (and especially the 'Thrasher's Dinner' at the Amish Centre and the Giant Jelly Beans in town).

I have a question for you. I'm thinking it would be a good thing if Livin'Lite had a camper or two that employees without their own trailer could sign out for their personal use. Is there such a thing already in place? To me it seems like it would be a great way for Livin'Lite to have their employees really engage with the products you are creating and the customers who make that happen. If there isn't a program like that bring it up with Scott! He's a smart guy and will see the value in the idea.

Camplite Truck Camper / Re: 8.6C and truck
July 29, 2015, 09:37:29 PM
About the weight of the 8.6C, I note Livin'Lite's site says the weight of an 8.6 -before options- is 2095 pounds. With the 8.6C you'll have a cassette toilet --- I had one put in my trailer and I can tell you it definitely weighs less than the standard toilet. I'd think it weighs significantly less + by not having the standard 14 gallon black water tank you'll likely be carrying far less heavy sewage around with you.

As David noted the options your camper may have will affect your weight as will the stuff you take camping with you. Perhaps leave the cast iron cookware at home and adopt a lightweight philosophy when it comes to stuff. I have no doubt you can live well and enjoy your camper without filling it up with stuff.

No it was there. I don't think I pointed it out to you. I think I did show you the cedar floor we added in the wet bath -- no?

Yes you did show me the floor  :)

When you've just see a cedar floor deck you wouldn't want to overwhelm your senses by also seeing a handle. A person can only take in so many mods at one time. I only showed you the floor for your own protection.  I didn't want you to have a mod overdose. ::)
