Camplite and Bearcat Modifications / Re: Heat Pumps
April 11, 2023, 05:09:05 PM
I have had the Houghton 3400 heat pump for a year now on my 21RBS (2015 model)
You can stand under the unit and communicate in a normal voice on high.
It also only pulls about 14 amps.

Hope this helps

If you take the door out there should be a part number reference for the door from Challenger Door. They may not have the azdel for the door. I ordered two extra doors and was told the adel was supplied buy the purchaser. The price for shipping seemed high, but after seeing how they were packaged for shipping I understand the charges.
The 1" aluminum tubing is available at most hardware stores, Home Depot, and Lowes.
Before you start this project, make sure you have a way to secure the cabinet to the wall and ceiling. The steel tape that is used for support behind the adel can be found with a magnet. Aluminum, not so easy.

Hope this helps

We have a 2015 21RBS and there is one spot on the couch that is starting to crack and flake. My wife keeps a spread over the back and we try to be gentle with use.  Don't know if we will recover or replace the couch when the time comes.
Does anyone know the manufactures name and model number of the chocolate colored couch that was used in the 2016-2017 models?

Thanks

I have a 2015 CL21RBS pulled with a 2012 Tundra crew cab 4X4 5.7L. I tow w/o a WDH. My CL is a late year 2015 model. If your CL 2016 is a early year model it will be like the one I have. For some reason they made model changes mid-year. I have been keeping up with the CL since doing research for the 2015 they I purchased. In my opinion, the late year 2015 and early 2016 of the 21RBS was the best model before Thor started making their changes. This was before Scott Tuttle left the company.

Hope this helps.

Trailer Maintenance / Re: Toilet trouble

I have a CL21RBS 2015 with the 7 CF refrig. This is before Thor started using the 6 CF model. Yours might be the same model as mine. The Dometic RM3762 RBFX.  Also, you need to know the the flakes of residue from the heat of operation in the heat stack can fall down on the gas ignition and jets that can cause it to malfunction. At least once a year, I use compressed air to blow out any trash that can cause a problem. Since your unit is outside don't forget that insects/spiders can cause problems with nests/webs also.

Hope this helps

I have a 2015 CL21RBS that had a couple of cracked welds. The SouthlandRV dealer got on the phone with Livin Lite and they arranged to pay the shipping back to the factory and inspect and repair, and then delivered it back to my house at not cost. While it was at the factory they upgraded the 2" ball hitch to the newer 2 1/4" ball hitch. That was back in May of 2015 when Scott Tuttle was still manager.

Hope you get this problem taken care of.

We have a 2015 21RBS and I changed the 40# struts to 60# and they work with bed sheets blankets without a problem.

I had the 2X4 aluminum added to the trailer about 2 months ago. The aluminum was about $60.00 and the welding was about 2 hrs. at $75.00/hr.

I did the pre/post work of removing the lights too.

I'am towing a 2015 21RBS with a Tundra crew cab and a 5.7 V8 and have not used a WDH. Have not had any problems. Some of the time I don't even know it is back there.

Southland is a very good dealer to deal with. They do take care of their customers. We purchased a 21RBS from them in 2015. Also, they are campers and can provide you with good advice.
