Greetings from New England.

Our 2017 16TBS is in need of some roof TLC. It has weathered 6 years of winter ice and snow as well as burning hot summer sun from desert heat to Atlantic coast nor'easter's torturous rain. She is no barn queen and has endured all with nary a leak.

I assume the roof is a rubberized material and at this stage would do with a good cleaning. Recommended Dicor rubber roof cleaner. Should it be resealed after cleaning?

The exterior edges all appear to be in good shape with no loose or exposed seams. The perimeter sealing compound is also holding up well.

My biggest concern is the seals around pipes, vents, antenna and so on. While firmly in place, much of it is showing large cracks as though it was shrinking and dried out. Can I just recoat it or should I remove it and reapply? I so, best removal process?

We look forward to another season of camping in our 16TBS. It is wonderfully resilient and has more than satisfied our ever expanding RV experience. One of our best investments ever.

Thanks all.

As previously posted my running light circuit continues to blow TV fuse on short. My attempts to chase all run light wiring for short has provided no specific answer. However, I believe to be closer to a solution as the following has revealed itself.

The TT is always connected to shore power while parked at home and not connected to the TV. One evening after dark I happened to see the entire rear run/nav lights lit up like a Christmas tree! With further inspection I was able to close the short by throwing the interior lights breaker switch.

The task now is to be able to trace the routing of the interior lighting circuit. Any advice as to how this may be accomplished would  be greatly appreciated. One caveat that has me completely puzzled is that the panel breaker has no effect on the light circuit when powered only by the 12V house battery. I cannot complete the wiring scheme in my mind.

Any and all suggestions including witchcraft will be gratefully received.

Happy Spring to all from New England. Time to replace our Safe-T-Alert. Unable to discern the correct fuse before removing. Anybody?

Also failing memory on my part. Pictured On/Off switch. Can't recall its use. Seems like always on.

16TBS Run/Nav lights continue to fail with blown 15A TV fuse. Will work with fuse replacement for a limited time then fail. Overload or short? Need help to track the problem. Thanks. :-\

Just returned from boondocking after realizing we had lost all fresh water. Unable to completely shut off spigot. Can it be replaced?

Our TBS16 is beginning to show its age. The plastic roof vent covers have survived north country winters and south west summers but are now cracked and with the consistency of plastic wrap. I purchased Cynder universal covers that do not match the OEM covers. Any help on where I might find proper replacements?

Much appreciated.

Had to pay an exterminator to remove large  Yellow Jacket nest from inside upper refrigerator cavity. Looking for ideas on how to screen in the removable panels. Anybody have a great success at this and how?

Thanks

Appears the shower drain is blocked by hair. Will try the baking soda, vinegar, hot water treatment and plunger.  Any  diagrams on the drain and trap?  Seems to be sitting right on top of the grey tank with little clearance.  Thanks.

Upon close inspection the amplifier has three (3) inputs to a single output.  One input I assume for the roof antenna, the second for the external cable connection and the third is unknown.  Has anyone and idea where the third one may lead from? I am trying to track down reception issues.

Camplite and Bearcat Travel Trailers / Late Start In Snow
November 23, 2018, 11:38:39 PM
Our late start going south may mean snow conditions on interstate, but more importantly salt spray. Destination commitments mean we go regardless. Snow and ice accumulation will require full stopping and reschedule. Any and all advice would be welcomed.

Has anyone removed and replaced the grey/black tank sensors or at least removed and cleaned them?

We are preparing for what will be a total 6000 mile run. I will guess we have put about 5000 miles on it already and I wanted to put some fresh grease in the wheel bearings.  Following the recommended procedure of jacking the trailer, removing the hub cap and rubber grommet I began pumping grease into the nipple while turning the wheel expecting to see old grease emerging. I saw none. Using a standard manual grease gun I placed about 1/3 of tube and stopped.  I had read that getting too much grease can cause other issues in the wheel itself. Also note on my single axle 16TBS the large decorative hubcap on the wheel also limits access for removing any excess grease. How much grease, using the typical tube of grease as a measure, would be required to do a proper job and can the decorative hubcap be removed?

Where to connect and what fitting? Thinking upstream of water pump with Camco pump convertor Winterizing kit and funnel nozzle adaptor. Any issues that I might confront?
