Trip Report/Photos / Re: Winter Spot

Okay, now I have a reason to never go to Mount Kidd.

Charging you for a previous night, that is low.

PS, I know you had some weld issues, do you have the drawbar issue like other 21's (I have not seen any thing on mine, but will look in the spring)

Trip Report/Photos / Re: The Start of Winter Camping

And this coming weekend, all the snow is gone, and the weather is going to be great.

But try as I may, just can't seem to get the Wife to agree to that one last trip. Besides, we had to winterize before all that snow hit us (this is not a problem thought, just redo it after).

Yup, that was the unit I saw heading East that morning on 22X in the summer.

As for how long we are going to keep this trailer, well, I am planning on being buried in it  ::)

My biggest concern is take the money, then a few years from now we get hit again, but this time it is the side and windows busted (quite a bit more cost), and no insurance. Yup, tough choice.

A phone call to the adjuster is in order during the week, gotta be something we can work out.

Oh, and the repair place says they won't do the work next spring (they are too busy then and don't do insurance work then) as I don't want to be moving it in the winter, so that is a whole other issue.

Well, back in the beginning of August, we got hit with hail. A busted roof vent, hole in the AC shroud, damage to the awning, and, of course, dents in the roof (metal) and the front orbit.

Fast forward, we just got the estimate, $7,000.00 to do repairs.

To be honest, the dents are on the roof, and top of the front orbit, and you can't see them from the ground. My concern, is fixing something completely cosmetic worth the risk of all that structural work.

Now here's the kicker, insurance company says fix it or there is no insurance for hail for the entire trailer going forward. Sorta forces my hand. I hate insurance companies.

Well that makes 3 of us in Calgary then  ;D

I am almost 250, and have been on the roof several times, but I don't know if they built them like the 2014 any more.

I added a 12vdc computer fan to ours.
I just used a toggle switch that i turn on as needed.
Very simple install and it works great.

Same thing I did, simple yet functional!

There were no cabinets on that side of the trailer, so the display was going to be out in the open no mater how it went. But I will have a nice flip up cover to solve that issue.

Okay, got mine done.

Not much to show, as the picture from tinkeringtechie of the wire mess is identical to what I found.

As to my mounting, I just used a couple of velcro straps and strapped it to the wire bundles on the floor (as they were attached to the floor).

Mounted the display next to the rest of the switches, but will need to cover the display for night as that number scrolling will be annoying.

Going to do the same thing to my 2014 21RBS this weekend, but my converter is under the Fridge on the Service side.

Wish me luck.

Okay, you guys talked me into it.

Was looking at a portable system, but nothing I could find was Canada Approved. Based on what I see at the Progressive site, this one is, and it is far more protective than those other ones, and the sticky fingered folk can't walk off with it.

I plan on doing the install on Friday, only difference on my 2104 21RBS is the converter is on the "Service" side under the fridge (so it could be tight). I will be sure to take lots of pictures and post my experience.

I am in a similar boat RV (although for a 21RBS), wheel service (times 4) over the next while. I too need at least to get some seals, but also need to know about brake parts.

I just took a picture of the axle placard and it does not give information about the brake size. I am quite sure it is 10" but the question is 1.5 or 2.25" wide pads (gut says 2.25").

Since the place I get parts is not open on the weekend, I need to get what I need during the week. So the plan is to pull the wheels off this weekend, look at the brakes and magnets (are they good?), measure the brake (now I know all that I need). Get the parts next week, seals for sure, brakes if needed, and a couple of sets of bearings (just in case, they keep). Then on the May long weekend, I can do the work, along with flush the water and test everything.

General Towing Discussions / Re: Towing a 21rbs

Do you have the factory "Bias Ply" tires or Radial.

I too have the F150, and 21RBS along with a WDH. Last year I had to replace the original tires, and this time put radials on it.

I too have run with the tank full, and yes there is a difference, but the difference after going to radials were like night and day. Baby tows like a dream now, rock solid back there and sway is very much reduced.

Remember that for the time you need to replace the tires.

Princess Craft in Austin,TX has a 21 that according to the pictures has twin beds just like the 16TBS.  I have never seen one like this,  must have been custom.

I went and looked the pictures up, that is a pretty cool idea, and it looks great.

Livin Lite General Discussion / Re: 21rbs tires...

I just upgraded mine on my 21RBS to Westlake STZC 205-75R14.

Went from the Bias ply to Radial, and towing is like night and day. But only have a couple of trips on them, so this coming season will tell.

As mentioned, don't forget to replace the spare too when going from Bias to Radial.
